Unable to download launcher

Last Updated: Jan 11, 2013 03:20AM CET
Description: This is usually as a result of a firewall or antivirus (frequently, AVG Antivirus) blocking the file transfer.

Solution: If you have AVG, follow this link for instructions on how to temporarily disable the features that are blocking the download. If you have another antivirus or firewall, you may wish to temporarily disable them, try the download again, and re-enable them afterwards. If disabling your antivirus did not work, then it is most likely your hosts file causing the issue. For Windows computers, you will need to go in and manually edit the hosts file in order to allow your computer to connect to the server. Navigate to the path C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. In that folder, you will see a file named hosts. Go into the hosts file and delete any lines that contain minecraft.net or s3.amazon.com.
